Reset Your Work Culture With Play

with Hima Batavia

About This Class

Want to make a change in your workplace and grow together? Well, we want to help! This class is great for teams looking to embrace and promote a creative work environment.

The global pandemic revealed that our workplaces need to push the RESET button, and reimagine how we relate to each other if we want to continue to retain and attract visionary and engaged team members.

Play is a powerful tool, and doorway to shaping workplace cultures rooted in care, creativity, experimentation, wellbeing, and equity. Yet, play has been minimized in adulthood as meaningless and not serious for success and in the workplace as foosball tables and monthly team building events, rather than at the center of how we live. The research consistently shows that playing in adulthood is not only a matter of health, but is the very thing that energizes us and opens us to new possibilities.

Join Hima Batavia in an experience that will not only convince you of the power of play, but show you how to design an intentional ‘sandbox’ to play in—one where we can examine what we all need to feel safe and creatively expressed, while being transparent about the power dynamics that ultimately impact how we play.

Through a process of co-creation and embodiment, a culture of play not only catalyzes a sense of collective joy, but a sense of trust, connection and meaning that translates into investing more deeply in an organization and its mission.

Together we will:

  • Expand your perception of the power of play as a cultural and creative tool
  • Identify organizational barriers that need to change to integrate play as a cultural value
  • Learn how to design an intentional ‘sandbox’ to play in and a framework to embed play within your organization’s culture
  • Apply play as a tool for examining safety, access needs, and creative desires, while being transparent about privilege and power dynamics
  • Brainstorm and share with peers ways in which your organization can play more

Hima Batavia is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer who crafts experiences and spaces that shape the culture of how we co-exist. She is the co-founder of Reset, a non-profit organization that designs IRL experiences for adults to just play, as an act of resistance, wellness and collective joy. Currently, she sits on the board of the organization.

Over the years, she has collaborated with organizations including Artscape, Luminato, Myseum, Toronto Prisoners Rights Project, Staples Studio, Centre for Social Innovation, Hyman Digital, and Woodgreen Community Services to design, produce and facilitate strategies, experiences, festivals and public artworks centered in principles of play, community, connection, personal transformation, systems change, futures-thinking and well-being.

Pretty great actually—thanks so much for asking! We hope you’re having a great day as well.

All class times are listed in US Eastern Standard Time. We are working to add more time slots that are time-zone friendly globally.

While we wish we could clone Simon, science just isn’t quite there yet. That is why we’ve trained our Optimist Instructors to teach our classes. However, our two on-demand courses are taught by Simon – check out Find Your WHY and The Art of Presenting!

When it’s time for class, you can log in here and click on your class under My Live Online Classes. You should receive reminder emails the day before class and again two hours before. Please check your spam folder if you don’t see those reminders in your inbox. We can’t wait to have you join us!

Don’t worry, we’ve got you!

1. Head here to reset your password

2. Enter your email address (the one you used at checkout)

3. Check your email inbox for further instructions

We are always looking to add more class options to accommodate our global audience. We hope to have some great options for you soon. In the meantime, Simon’s books have been translated into multiple languages and can be ordered online.

We totally understand that schedules can change at the last minute. An unedited recording is available for 48 hours after class ends for all classes except for our WHY series.

We’re glad you asked! Our 60- and 90-minute classes offer: more detail, more connection with your fellow attendees, more activities, and more interaction with our instructors. The 25-minute classes are more lecture-style. They feature more information-per-minute, but the shorter timeframe also means fewer opportunities for active participation.

We know you’re busy and, if you can’t easily spare 60 minutes, we don’t want to deprive you of an opportunity to grow!

Yes! Buy any three of our 25-minute classes in one purchase and you’ll get the third class for half-price. This means that if you purchase a bundle of three 25-minute classes, it will cost $100 instead of the full $120. The $20 discount will be applied to your cart automatically during checkout. If you buy three 25-minute classes in separate transactions, you’ll pay the full price for all classes.

Yes, we have team options! We love that you are looking to take care of those around you. Your team can join a public class, and you’ll receive a team discount at checkout when you register 10+ team members.

If you want a private class just for your team, on a date and time that works for you, then visit our private class page and our team will be excited to help you.

Our team is more than happy to assist you; just contact us here and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
