The Infinite Game

with our Optimist Instructors

About This Class

Want to make a change in your workplace and grow together? Well, we want to help! This class is great for teams looking to advance a purpose, protect their people, and still generate profit.

Finite games, like football or chess, have known players, fixed rules, and a clear endpoint. The winners and losers are easily identified. In infinite games, like business or politics or life itself, the players come and go, the rules are changeable, and there is no defined endpoint. There are no winners or losers in an infinite game, there is only ahead and behind.

You’ve (probably) read Simon’s book or watched a video on The Infinite Game. This class is designed to apply these concepts to your life, relationships and career so that you can embrace an infinite mindset.

Those of us who adopt an infinite mindset build stronger, more innovative and inspiring teams, organizations, careers and lives. Ultimately, those who live with an infinite mindset are the ones who lead the rest of us into the future.

Together we will:

  • Understand how we all operate in both finite and infinite games, in our work and lives, and be able to distinguish between the two
  • Unpack the five essential practices to living and leading with an Infinite Mindset: 1) Advance a Just Cause, 2) Build Trusting Teams, 3) Study Worthy Rivals, 4) Prepare for Existential Flexibility and 5) Demonstrate the Courage to Lead
  • Explore new ways of adopting an Infinite Mindset so we can choose to live more meaningful, inspiring, and impactful lives

FAQs

Pretty great actually—thanks so much for asking! We hope you’re having a great day as well.

All class times are listed in US Eastern Standard Time. We are working to add more time slots that are time-zone friendly globally.

While we wish we could clone Simon, science just isn’t quite there yet. That is why we’ve trained our Optimist Instructors to teach our classes. However, our two on-demand courses are taught by Simon – check out Find Your WHY and The Art of Presenting!

We are always looking to add more class options to accommodate our global audience. We hope to have some great options for you soon. In the meantime, Simon’s books have been translated into multiple languages and can be ordered online.

We totally understand that schedules can change at the last minute. An unedited recording is available for 48 hours after class ends for all classes except for our WHY series.

When it’s time for class, you can log in here and click on your class under My Live Online Classes. You should receive reminder emails the day before class and again two hours before. Please check your spam folder if you don’t see those reminders in your inbox. We can’t wait to have you join us!

We’re glad you asked! Our 60- and 90-minute classes offer: more detail, more connection with your fellow attendees, more activities, and more interaction with our instructors. The 25-minute classes are more lecture-style. They feature more information-per-minute, but the shorter timeframe also means fewer opportunities for active participation.

We know you’re busy and, if you can’t easily spare 60 minutes, we don’t want to deprive you of an opportunity to grow!

Yes! Buy any three of our 25-minute classes in one purchase and you’ll get the third class for half-price. This means that if you purchase a bundle of three 25-minute classes, it will cost $100 instead of the full $120. The $20 discount will be applied to your cart automatically during checkout. If you buy three 25-minute classes in separate transactions, you’ll pay the full price for all classes.

Yes, we have team options! We love that you are looking to take care of those around you. Your team can join a public class, and you’ll receive a team discount at checkout when you register 10+ team members.

If you want a private class just for your team, on a date and time that works for you, then visit our private class page and our team will be excited to help you.

Our team is more than happy to assist you; just contact us here and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

The 5 Practices

We can’t choose the game. We can’t choose the rules. We can only choose how we play. Any leader who wants to adopt an infinite mindset must follow these five essential practices.

Organizations have to offer their employees a Cause so Just that they would be willing to sacrifice their own interests to advance it.

Our lives are finite, but life is infinite. We are the finite players in the infinite game of life. We come and go, we're born and we die, and life still continues with us or without us.

-Simon Sinek

Why I Wrote This

I wrote this book not to convert those who defend the status quo, I wrote this book to rally those who are ready to challenge that status quo and replace it with a reality that is vastly more conducive to our deep-seated human need to feel safe, to contribute to something bigger than ourselves and to provide for ourselves and our families. A reality that works for our best interests as individuals, as companies, as communities and as a species. If we believe in a world in which we can feel inspired, safe and fulfilled every single day and if we believe that leaders are the ones who can deliver on that vision, then it is our collective responsibility to find, teach and support those who are committed to leading in a way that will more likely bring that vision to life. And one of the steps we need to take is to learn what it means to lead in the Infinite Game.

A spark is something quite small and, by itself, not very powerful. But a spark has the ability to ignite. An idea is like a spark; alone it is just a set of words, but it too can ignite. A great idea can inspire others to dream bigger. Let us all work together to ignite something greater than ourselves.

Let us all be a Spark of Optimism.
